National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Aizawl, is a Government of India institution under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Formerly known as the DOEACC Centre, Aizawl, the centre was established in 2001 at Industrial Estate, Zuangtui. It forms part of the national NIELIT network dedicated to education, training and skill development in electronics, information technology and related emerging areas.
NIELIT Aizawl is now a constituent unit of NIELIT Deemed-to-be University. NIELIT has been granted deemed-to-be university status under the Distinct Category under the UGC framework, and the university offers electronics and information technology programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma levels through its main campus and constituent units.
